Benidorm actor Adam Gillen looks unrecognisable to his beloved character Liam Conroy over a decade after joining the sitcom.
The 37-year-old star now sports a ginger beard - a world away from the fresh-faced holidaymaker he played in Benidorm. Adam joined the show as Liam, who was the son of Les Conroy (Tim Healy, and later became a season staple as an employee at the Solana.
As well as looking completely different from his time on the show, many fans were unaware that Adam has been loved-up with a former co-star for years now. Adam has been in a relationship with actress Laila Zaidi for a few years and the pair frequently post cute snaps on social media.
The pair reportedly met on the Benidorm series finale in 2018 after Laila joined the cast as Rob Dawson's girlfriend Cyd, reports The Mirror. The couple left fans shocked with their romance, as one commented on a recent post of the pair: "They are a real life couple?!"
After finishing the show, Adam has kept in contact with some of his co-stars including Tony Maudsley, who played hair salon owner Kenneth. The pair met up in 2021 and enjoyed a festive pint together as they often filmed scenes together on the ITV show as Liam worked in Kenneth's salon at one point.
Alongside the recent festive photograph, Tony tweeted: "Christmas is always better when your favourite people come to visit."
He then further commented: "When @adam_gillen pops round it's like slipping into a cozy pair of slippers."
Since coming off air, rumours have been flying that a Benidorm reunion could be on the cards but actress Siobhan Finneran, who played Janice Garvey, shut down the speculation.
She said to The Sun: "Cast and creatives met at a comedy convention for the show, back in the summer, and some stories about a possible TV revival grew out of that. But sadly that was all they were, rumours.
"You should probably never say never to anything so popular but as far as I know it won’t be coming back at any point."
