Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has effectively admitted he likely won’t win MVP this year despite his spectacular season.
Fans can be able to forgive Ja’Marr Chase, then, for wondering aloud if somebody else might win the award this year.
Chase, presumably watching the conference title games like everyone else over the weekend, shared a simple message during the NFC title game: @saquon MVP ? 👀

It’s becoming much harder to ignore Saquon Barkley’s season for the Philadelphia Eagles, that’s for sure. While fueling his team to a 55-23 win over Washington to advance to the Super Bowl, he rushed for 118 yards and three scores. In the playoffs, he’s rushed for 442 yards and five scores on a 6.7 average. During the regular season, he ran for 2,005 and 13 on a 5.8 average.
Given the nature of the MVP award, it will somehow still go to a quarterback, anyway.
But Chase might have another reason for suggesting Barkley — it could make his own path to Offensive Player of the Year easier. Chase is up for that soon, yet so is Barkley.
