With so much at stake in the AFC playoff race as they clutch slim hopes, the Cincinnati Bengals won’t have to play one of the NFL’s best running backs on Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts visit.
Those Colts won’t have star running back Jonathan Taylor, who needed surgery due to a thumb injury two weeks ago despite rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on a 6.1 average in a win.
That means a shaky Bengals run defense will see Zack Moss, who has run for 723 yards and five touchdowns this year on a 4.5 average.
Thanks to a win over the Jaguars last week and Thursday’s Steelers flop, the Bengals continue to have a fighting chance at the playoffs if they keep winning games. Missing Taylor is something the defense will need to capitalize on for the team to remain technically in the race.
