Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suggested he might just show up at Paycor Stadium for the Taylor Swift concert.
In a funny twist, the landmark event for the city might just end up helping the Bengals afford keeping on-field football weapons like Ja’Marr Chase around Burrow, too.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Scott Wartman, the Bengals and Hamilton County will split some of the proceeds from the shows this weekend.
In addition to split revenue from thousands of parking spaces on the riverfront, the two parties also split the following, per Wartman:
The contract with the promoter gives the Bengals the right to sell 122 of the stadium’s 125 luxury suites and access to a party deck, according to the contract. The Bengals must share half of the proceeds with Hamilton County. The promoter will get three luxury suites for “complimentary guests.”
So what does it mean? More cash on hand for a franchise is never a bad thing when it needs to dole out major guaranteed portions of contracts on extensions.
With Burrow and potentially Tee Higgins, Logan Wilson and others (DJ Reader, perhaps?) getting extensions soon, every little bit helps.
