Bengals weren’t one of multiple AFC North teams at Odell Beckham’s workout

The Cincinnati Bengals were not one of the teams at the recent workout hosted by wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in Arizona on Friday.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, many teams attended, including AFC North rivals such as the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

While the Bengals don’t project to have interest in Beckham, there was a time last season while the depth chart battled injuries that the idea started making the rounds with fans. It is a mild surprise to see it suggested the team didn’t do the standard due diligence on this front.

Beckham didn’t end up playing last season, though reviews of the workout suggest he’s back to his old self.

While the Bengals are just fine at wideout right now, the long-term outlook could get addressed in the draft soon as Tyler Boyd enters the final year of his deal.

From a Bengals perspective, Friday’s workout at least suggested the defense might have to line up against Beckham twice a year next season with two divisional teams keeping an eye on him.
