The Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams hold their second and final joint practice in Cincinnati this week before Saturday night’s Week 3 preseason game.
Besides Aaron Donald touching Joe Burrow and sparking some jawing, Day 1 of the joint sessions was uneventful, dramatically speaking.
Practice still had some fun Ja’Marr Chase vs. Jalen Ramsey sessions and Hayden Hurst made a huge highlight grab.
But as a whole? It was indeed a polite day between teams whose head coaches happen to be good friends. Fans can expect more of the same from the second session.
Below, we’ll track live updates from the day, including highlights and reactions, oldest to newest.
Update: Practice ended early after a massive fight.

The #Bengals offense hasn’t looked particularly sharp today. Outside of the one deep shot to Ja’Marr, a few dropped passes and Burrow was just picked off by Jalen Ramsey

La’el Collins just threw multiple haymaker punches at No. 54 on the Rams. A level 10 fight here breaks out.

Massive fight. Punches thrown, helmets ripped off, people all over the place.

Crosstown Shootout like. After the play ended, Collins delivered some full force punches. A scrum ensued and the dugouts emptied.
Collins is now leaving the practice field.

It. Is. On.
Started with Leonard Floyd and La’el Collins again. Punches thrown.
At one point, Aaron Donald grabbed someone’s helmet and then was shoved to the ground.

Teams being sent to their separate corners. Jalen Ramsey staying in the middle of the field talking to the Bengals wide receiver coach Troy Walters. Looks like that will be it for this drill, maybe the whole practice

Pretty wild brawl just happened between Bengals offense & Rams defense.
Aaron Donald was swinging a helmet.
Should be some images coming at some point.

The Bengals are all leaving. The Rams are still here.

Zac Taylor says they only had three reps left in the day so they decided to end it after the second fight. Called it two good days of work.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) August 25, 2022
Zac Taylor didn’t address much. When asked about Collins, he said We like guys that like ball. He’s good to have in the mix.”
Eli Apple is taking it day to day. Starters won’t play on Saturday.

Zac Taylor: “Got a little scuffly. We called it. We got two really good days of work in.”
“You want competitive guys but you want to be safe.”
