Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd doesn’t want to hear anyone talk even the slightest bit down about fellow wideout Tee Higgins.
Case in point, Boyd took to Twitter recently and commented on a Pro Football Focus post that asked if Higgins was the best No. 2 wideout in the NFL.
Boyd wrote the following: “He’s not a number 2 you trippin”
Funnily enough, that’s one of the exact details possibly standing between Higgins and the Bengals getting a long-term extension done right now. There’s a conventional, likely-true idea that Higgins would be a No. 1 on most teams — but almost no team in the league has a player like Ja’Marr Chase holding down that top spot.
Semantics aside — and this probably won’t stop a Higgins extension at some point this offseason — it’s got to be cool for fans to see players publicly defending each other like this.
