Bengals training camp features an UDFA starting to break out

One of Ja’Marr Chase’s best friends continues to make the most of his chance with the Cincinnati Bengals during training camp.

And that might be underselling it a bit.

Lance Robinson, the former Tulane cornerback and part of the team’s undrafted class this year, already has two interceptions over the course of the first three practices.

An offer for Bengals fans

After a solid Friday while working from the slot, Robinson caught the eye of most onlookers, including Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

Robinson already turned on the siren Thursday with an interception. As he did on his pick Friday, he was playing man defense in the slot and when rookie Tre Mosley went in motion and tried to stutter past him on a go ball, Robinson stayed on his shoulder and made the catch instead in his stomach.

Per Hobson, Chase gave Robinson some key advice — follow Mike Hilton.

No wonder things are working out already. Bengals scouts loved Robinson’s athleticism (including a 4.43-second 40-yard dash) and film. But following a player like Hilton — one of the game’s steadiest slot men — is a surefire way to be on the right path.

While it’s early, Robinson standing out already is a good sign he can spend the summer making a serious push at the final 53.
