The Cincinnati Bengals will have one of the 2023 NFL draft names they are most commonly linked to in for a visit before the big day.
According to Joe Danneman of Fox 19, the Bengals will host Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer on a visit this Monday.
Mayer, considered by most the top tight end in the 2023 class, already met with the Bengals and at the combine said he loved the encounter.
At 6’4″ and 250 pounds with experts like NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein comparing him to Jason Witten, Mayer is one of the big favorites for the Bengals at their pick near the end of the round.
A visit from Mayer doesn’t mean the Bengals will lock him in if he’s there — they would be foolish not to do due diligence.
But don’t be surprised if both parties offer similar positive quotes coming out of this meeting given the seemingly natural fit.
