The Cincinnati Bengals bulldozed the Buffalo Bills 27-10 in the divisional round of the playoffs, punching a ticket to the AFC title game for the second year in a row.
Along the way, the Bengals got some huge performances from depth pieces and role players that fueled the victory. Here’s a quick look at some takeaways from the official snap counts.
— Backup offensive linemen Jackson Carman, Hakeem Adeniji and Max Scharping played 100 percent of the snaps on what was probably the most complete game by the line all year.
— Joe Mixon was very effective on the field while playing 56 percent of the snaps, still giving up pass-blocking looks to Samaje Perine.
— Hayden Hurst only played 51 percent of the snaps, splitting time with two others at the spot as the offense went into very run-heavy looks.
— Trenton Irwin has a nice role now as the fourth weapon at wideout while making plays and he registered 25 percent of the snaps.
— Five defenders played 100 percent of the snaps, including both safeties, boundary corners and Logan Wilson. Mike Hilton was at 98 percent, up dramatically from his smaller role against the Ravens’ triple-option attack.
— Joseph Ossai played 57 percent, another sign he’s got the full trust of coaches as an impact pass-rusher. Trey Hendrickson played 51 percent while still battling his broken wrist.
