The Cincinnati Bengals kept the defensive trend of the draft class going in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft by selecting Florida defensive lineman Zach Carter.
Carter, a redshirt senior with 7.5 sacks last season, is 6’4″ and 282 pounds with the positional versatility to line up all over the defensive front, including at the 3-tech, where he could help replace some of the production lost by the departure of Larry Ogunjobi.
Like the two picks before him, Carter lets the coaches use him all over the place in all sorts of formations, even at defensive end.
This pick came after the Bengals grabbed safety Dax Hill in the opening round and then traded up for cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt in the second round.
