Bengals safety Vonn Bell is poised to sign with the Panthers, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday.
At this time, it’s unknown what contract terms Bell and Carolina have agreed upon. The safety won’t be able to sign a contract until 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, when the new league year officially begins.
Bell spent the past three seasons in Cincinnati. During that time, he appeared in Super Bowl LVI and two AFC championship games. Last season, Bell started 16 games, recording 68 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack.
Before his tenure with the Bengals, Bell spent his first four professional seasons with the Saints.
Now, Bell returns to the NFC South with the Panthers, who are expected to go through major changes for the 2023 season. The team just traded with the Bears to acquire the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
