Bengals rookie WR Jermaine Burton named sleeper to watch

It isn’t uncommon to see hype for Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton since the team drafted him in the third round.

While it’s a hype that should only continue to grow once training camp actually starts, Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer just named him a rookie sleeper to watch:

Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will have more versatile roles as the team works to replace the reliable slot production of Tyler Boyd, now with former Bengals’ offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and the Titans. Trenton Irwin is the default veteran No. 3, with second-year men Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones also in the mix. But Burton is one to watch to be an emerging technician for Joe Burrow.

An offer for Bengals fans

Given how the Bengals viewed Burton as a steal at No. 80 and the sudden need for help in the slot, he could end up playing a big chunk of time there alongside new tight end Mike Gesicki.

And based on what we’ve heard about the rapport between Burton and Joe Burrow already, he might not classify as a sleeper for much longer.
