Cincinnati Bengals rookie wideout Jermaine Burton has been meeting all expectations so far — if not exceeding them.
From working with Joe Burrow to talking openly about why he fell in the draft, Bengals fans know quite well that Burton is on track to possibly play a big role in the offense as the third wideout.
The idea of a Burton breakout is starting to catch national attention, too.
NFL Network’s Bridget Condon was asked for a rookie name most aren’t talk about — but should be:
Jermaine Burton.
“You would have thought he got drafted a lot higher than he did,” Condon said. “So why didn’t he? And in talking with scouts today, they all have the same kind of thing that they told me: There were questions about his character, questions about his coachability, but that he was really, really talented…But in talking with a member of the Bengals today, they told me Burton has been great so far, there have been no issues.”
While the Bengals do draft major needs one year in advance and Tee Higgins is only on the franchise tag for now, Burton’s immense skill set could see him contribute quite a bit earlier than 2025.
Given how things have gone so far, Burton is an easy pick to be a consistent headline-grabber during training camp soon.
