Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon found trouble while in college at Oklahoma.
Years later and now in the NFL, he is being investigated by law authorities.
Documents state Mixon is wanted for aggravated menacing after allegedly pointing a gun at a victim in Cincinnati.
Mixon is accused of telling the victim, “you should be popped in the face. I should shoot you. The police can’t get me.” The alleged offense happened in the 300 block of Walnut Street on Jan. 21, according to the documents.
The Bengals played the Buffalo Bills the following day in Orchard Park, New York.
The Bengals released a statement acknowledging the situation.
“The club is aware misdemeanor charges have been raised against Joe Mixon. The club is investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time.”
In 2014, Mixon was charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a woman. He alleged he was called a racial slur, which prompted him to use a homophobic slur before the assault occurred. Mixon entered a plea deal, was given a year of probation, and was suspended for one season.
Mixon’s agent released a statement saying he expects charges to be dropped.
