Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the remainder of the 2023 season because of a wrist injury suffered Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed the news during a press conference on the Friday after the game.
Burrow suffered the injury during the first half of the loss to the Ravens. He was unable to properly grip the ball on the sideline, then went to the locker room and was ruled out. After the game, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor suggested the injury was a sprained wrist, though further tests would reveal the extent of the damage.
An MRI on Friday revealed the worst-case scenario for the Bengals, who will move forward with Jake Browning under center. In relief of Burrow on Thursday night, Browning completed eight of 14 attempts for 68 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed four times for 40 yards.
The Bengals play again on Nov. 26 at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Joe Burrow is out for the remainder of the season.
