Bengals’ Paycor Stadium $1 billion renovation plan proposed

The Cincinnati Bengals already have some serious upgrades continuing to roll out at Paycor Stadium over the next year or so.

But even more could be coming—in the form of more than $1 billion in proposed renovations.

Early this week, Hamilton County commissioners were presented with a massive renovation proposal that would breathe new life into Paycor Stadium, which is now 24 years old.

The proposal, as provided by Fox 19, provided renderings of major changes to the stadium’s exterior, including huge LED wraps on the outside, changing the current outdoor practice field into team administration offices and a brand new indoor practice facility, among other upgrades.

Before anything else, of course, there’s the matter of the expiring lease. WCPO’s Dan Monk and Paula Christian provided critical details on that front:

The county’s lease with the Bengals is set to expire on June 30, 2026, but the team could opt for five consecutive two-year extensions. These extensions would go into effect upon written notice from the team no later than 12 months prior to the lease’s expiration.

The proposed plans are in the early stages of negotiations and don’t include an option for a new stadium. First up, though, is the tricky subject of that lease situation.
