For about two-plus quarters, the Cincinnati Bengals‘ offensive line looked like they were holding up well and giving Joe Burrow opportunities. Then the second half, especially the fourth quarter, progressed and the Bengals’ biggest weakness reared its ugly head at the worst possible time.
According to ESPN, the Bengals posted a 14 percent pass-block win rate in their 23-20 Super Bowl LVI loss to the Los Angeles Rams. That was the worst win rate of any team in any game this season. Period.
The Bengals overcame allowing Burrow to be sacked nine times in the divisional round against the Tennessee Titans. But this Rams offense proved too powerful for the Bengals to overcome seven sacks in the Super Bowl.
Credit the Rams. Aaron Donald and company made the big plays when they needed to. But this game undoubtedly proved that the Bengals need to heavily address the offensive line this offseason.
Bengals finished with a 14% pass block win rate, the worst by any team in any game this season.
