The Cincinnati Bengals might be on a bye week, yet the buzz around the team and the greater NFL Week 7 and looming trade deadline certainly is not.
While fans hope that Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, Chidobe Awuzie and other hobbled Bengals are resting up this weekend, the headlines have continued to flow.
We’ve got more fallout from the win over the Seattle Seahawks, some funny behind-the-scenes footage and even an interesting trade deadline idea for the Bengals to consider that would reunite Burrow with a former teammate.
Here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for October 21.
A trade idea to get Burrow a former LSU teammate -- Bengals Wire
How’s this for a fun one? A former Burrow weapon from the LSU days is very available on the open market and wouldn’t cost the Bengals much. While it’s not a position of need right now…it could be in the near future.
DK Metcalf fallout -- Bengals Wire
Last Bengals fans saw DK Metcalf, he was throwing Cam Taylor-Britt to the ground and getting flagged for it. Now he’s thrown out some interesting comments about the whole thing.
Tee Higgins' trade value -- Bengals Wire
The Bengals aren’t going to trade Higgins. But that won’t stop outsiders from breaking down just how much he might fetch the Bengals in a trade if they for some reason decided to make a move.
Ja'Marr Chase mic'd up -- Bengals Wire
Chase was mic’d up against the Seahawks and it is about as funny as you would expect.

Callahan on Burrow -- Bengals.com
Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan says all is going according to plan when it comes to Burrow: “It sure feels like he is. If he’s not normal, he’s pretty close. Thankfully. That’s a good thing. “Obviously a handful of days-off should put him in a pretty good place coming out of the bye. And that was always the hope and the goal. To get to this point where he was feeling pretty close to normal.”
Anarumo on B.J. Hill -- Bengals.com
An unheralded part of the equation for the Bengals so far? Interior lineman B.J. Hill, who got this lofty praise from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo this week: “(Hill’s) a good three-down guy, a three-down player that can affect the quarterback. (But) stout enough to sit in against these double-team hard-run teams. Those guys are hard to find these days, and they’re smart football players. They don’t make error in there. It’s important those guys play that way and are consistent.”
