Bengals news: Cam Taylor-Britt injured, Week 13 picks and more

The Cincinnati Bengals issued a final injury report on the Saturday before the Monday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Otherwise, though, it was about as quiet of a day as it could get for the team.

On that report though, the team got confirmation that two of its bigger names would be able to give it a go as they look to save their season.

Plus, this late in the process of the week means it’s time to go over the picks of experts and see how they feel about the game.

Here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for December 3.

Just like that, Cam Taylor-Britt has gone from a guy who looked like he would fight through quad injury to somebody who will sit out for another reason. Per coaches, CTB suffered an ankle injury in practice that will cause him to miss the game.

Tee Higgins and Logan Wilson are good to go on the final injury report. It’s an impressively short list considering how many names were on it in the days prior.

Myles Murphy wants to get after Trevor Lawrence

The Bengals first-rounder says he wasn’t allowed to touch Lawrence at Clemson. That changes in a big way on Monday night.

Count Ja’Marr Chase among those thrilled to have Higgins back on the field and his explanation as to why is both funny and true.

Both experts pick against Bengals -- ESPN

Both experts listed say no thanks to the Bengals in this one. This is some notable added context: “What should have been a marquee QB matchup between Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence is now Lawrence vs. Jake Browning. The Jaguars’ pass rush is coming off one of its best games of the season (21 pressures, four sacks), and Browning has been sacked seven times in the last two games.”

No picks for the Bengals -- NFL.com

No love for the Bengals here either, with this as part of the reasoning: “Expect the Jaguars and their fourth-ranked rush defense to target a similar result on Sunday. While Cincinnati’s skill players are talented enough to elevate their inexperienced passer, enabling the Bengals to hang around in this one, they simply can’t overcome the disparity at the QB position. Taking the Jags with clear eyes and a full heart. Can’t lose?”

This one says pride will play a part, plus some logic: “But I don’t want to lay that many points. The Bengals have some pride, right? They still have plenty of talent and last I checked, the Jaguars’ home crowd didn’t strike fear into anybody (they are 3-3 at home both straight up and against the spread). Jake Browning wasn’t terrible in his first start for an injured Joe Burrow, and this season especially, I can work with that.”
