Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes was recently mocked to the Cincinnati Bengals after not really being mentioned alongside the team prior to that.
But as always, things change fast in the NFL.
At the scouting combine, Forbes told reporters he had already met with the Bengals. And in his own words, Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is “direct and to the point,” according to Cleveland.com’s Mohammad Ahmad.
Forbes projects as a boundary corner and has many of the prerequisites the Bengals look for beyond that — he’s versatile, a leader at a big program and has proven production after picking off six passes last year.
The Bengals already have Cam Taylor-Britt across from Chidobe Awuzie, but depth is an issue and Awuzie continues to rehab. Like Dax Hill and CTB last year, Forbes would certainly be a nice now-later mixture of a draft pick in the opening round.
