The Cincinnati Bengals made a minor roster move the day before the team’s encounter with the Buffalo Bills on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 9.
In response to safety Tycen Anderson going to injured reserve with a torn ACL he actually played through the week prior, the Bengals elevated wide receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. to even out things for the special teams unit.
Morgan has been a core special-teamer for a while in Cincinnati and now gets to rejoin the active roster and take up that role again for at least one week, with potentially something more long-term coming at a later date. The team could have promoted veteran safety Michael Thomas, too, and figures to fill the open spot on the 53 next week with rookie Charlie Jones.
For now, Morgan is a standard elevation who will revert back to the practice squad on the Monday after the game.
