The Cincinnati Bengals defense projects to look much different in 2025 under defensive coordinator Al Golden.
Whether that future includes linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither is hard to say, as he’ll head to free agency off a career-high 82 tackles and looking to earn more than the one-year, $3 million deal from last season.
Now, the projection gets a little more difficult with Davis-Gaither changing agents.

A fourth-round pick by the Bengals in 2020, Davis-Gaither has jumped to Athlete’s First, which the agency revealed this week.
Notably, Tee Higgins recently left Athletes First’s David Mulugheta, which has fueled rumblings that he’ll re-sign with the Bengals this offseason. Whether this has any similar impact on Davis-Gaither in the other direction remains to be seen.
Davis-Gaither’s unique blend of sized and athleticism makes him a key strategic piece, regardless. He’s one of many free agents the team has to make tough calls on this offseason.
