The Cincinnati Bengals, as expected, have eyes on the cornerback position ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bengals hosted Miami (Fla.) cornerback DJ Ivey on a visit.
Ivey has good size and athletic traits for the position. Perhaps more importantly for this specific Bengals program, he’s come up big when asked — such as his sophomore season when he led the team with three interceptions. He gets bonus points for this Bengals staff thanks to his years of experience at a big program.
Cincinnati could add a cornerback as early as the first round. While No. 1 Chidobe Awuzie targets a Week 1 return, the team lost Eli Apple and Tre Flowers, only adding Sidney Jones as depth.
Ivey would represent a later-round investment with potentially huge payoffs while boosting the depth.
