The Cincinnati Bengals are getting busy in free agency again.
A mere hours after signing cornerback Sidney Jones, the NFL’s transaction wire revealed that the team hosted defensive linemen Tarell Basham and DT Kentavious Street on visits.
Basham, a third-round pick in 2017, has played for four different teams, most recently signing with the Titans last December. Street was a fourth-round pick in 2018 but has struggled to overcome the injury bug.
While these aren’t major names, it’s clear the Bengals want to add to the depth on the interior of the line behind B.J. Hill and others.
It’s not unreasonable to think the Bengals could draft the position too, and potentially early, but checking in with some free agents boasting upside makes plenty of sense.
