It sounds like the Cincinnati Bengals won’t be without budding star cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt for longer than the rules require.
Taylor-Britt went to injured reserve last week with an ankle injury suffered in practice (while also battling a nagging quad issue). Missing the mandatory four games would mean he could return for the final two games of the season.
And speaking with the media this week, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor made it sound like they expect CTB to be back for that December 31 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, per Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
In the interim, veteran Chidobe Awuzie has resumed his No. 1 cornerback role after an offseason spent rehabbing a torn ACL before a back issue in practice. Across from him, rookie DJ Turner continues to show promise on the boundary.
If the Bengals are still in the playoff race three weeks from now, the secondary could get an additional boost at critical moment.
