Bengals grab defensive help in new 2022 NFL mock draft

With the Cincinnati Bengals remaking their offensive line in free agency, they’ve given themselves a bit of flexibility with the No. 31 pick in the draft. They don’t have to be zeroed in on the offensive line. They can move around a bit.

In the latest mock draft from The Draft Network’s Brentley Weissman, the Bengals boost their secondary, arguably their second-biggest need heading into free agency.

In this mock, they land Florida CB Kaiir Elam:

The Bengals have done an excellent job adding to their offensive line this offseason and they finally have assembled a unit that should give Joe Burrow time to throw the football. These additions in free agency allow the team to fortify their defense through the draft. Adding Kaiir Elam will give this secondary some much-needed length and athleticism—in a loaded AFC, you can never have too many corners.

The Bengals brought back Eli Apple but made the expected move of cutting Trae Waynes. They need some back end up and Elam can certainly be that help at No. 31 to go up against some of the top receivers in the AFC North and the entire AFC in general.
