When the Cincinnati Bengals made roster moves on the Monday before training camp’s opening, one of those listed was stashing star cornerback Chidobe Awuzie on the PUP list.
And he’s off the list a day later.
The Bengals announced on Tuesday that Awuzie had passed his physical, meaning he’s free to come off the list and be active in some capacity right at the start of camp on Wednesday.
It’s a big boon for Awuzie, who has maintained optimism he would like to be ready for the season opener. The Bengals won’t rush it, but could certainly use the veteran back after his season-ending injury last October.
We have cleared CB Chidobe Awuzie to practice and removed him from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.
