Bengals could lose key part of GM-front office structure to Jets

The Cincinnati Bengals need to find a new defensive coordinator and fill other vacant coaching spots this offseason.

A new report says the front office might be losing at least one key member, too.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the New York Jets requested an interview with Trey Brown, Cincinnati’s senior personnel executive, for their general manager job.

Pelissero added this about Brown: “Brown, who functions as the assistant GM in Cincinnati, has been in the mix for several other jobs in recent years.”

It’s an open secret that Duke Tobin is the general manager for the Bengals, but Brown has been a key part of the operation since being promoted to the spot in 2022.

Brown reportedly turned down an interview with the New England Patriots over their general manager position last year.

At a time when it seems the Bengals need to expand the scouting department and front office, the team is again at risk of losing a key member who keeps getting major attention around the league.
