Bengals appear to have a hilarious and bizarre Super Bowl superstition

It would appear the Cincinnati Bengals might be a superstitious bunch ahead of Super Bowl LVI against the Los Angeles Rams.

Superstition is a big part of sports in general, largely from fans. It’s not uncommon to hear about a gameday shirt or something similar. We’ve seen the odd case of “playoff beards” and such, too.

But how about split the pole?

Onlookers shot a video of Bengals players in Los Angeles during the week of the Super Bowl and caught star receiver Ja’Marr Chase herding his fellow players through one pole, going out of his way to shift his flock through the same route.

A quick google search says splitting the pole to navigate an object or person is bad luck. So unless there’s something offscreen we can’t see, Chase was doing his part to make sure his Bengals teammates don’t get back luck before the biggest game of their lives.
