A day after running with the first team at practice with Jessie Bates out, Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Dax Hill agreed to terms with the team on his rookie contract.
The Bengals made Hill the 31st pick in the draft, aiming for a versatile defensive back with rare athleticism.
He’ll back up multiple spots (safety spots and nickel corner) as a rookie and coaches also think he could play boundary corner if necessary.
Hill was considered one of the best picks of the draft by one expert and Mel Kiper immediately said it was one of the draft’s top steals.
The rookie deal locks up Hill for four seasons with a team option for a fifth.
The #Bengals have agreed to terms with first-round pick #Michigan DB Daxton Hill, source said. He’ll sign today. Another first-rounder in the books.
