Our good friend Luke Easterling dropped his latest mock draft for 2023, because as we’ve already seen, it’s never too early to think about next year’s draft.
And he takes a very interesting route with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Easterling gives the Bengals one of the more intriguing and talented receivers in this upcoming class in reigning Biletnekoff Award winner Jordan Addison of USC with the 21st pick (order based on Super Bowl odds).
Value over need here for the Bengals, who give Joe Burrow yet another dynamic weapon. Last year’s Biletnekoff Award winner as the nation’s top receiver, Addison transferred from Pitt, and could be a Heisman Trophy candidate in Lincoln Riley’s offense.
A combo of Ja’Marr Chase with Addison along with Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, even if just for one year, would be quite a dynamic offense. Addison has a chance to really increase his stock now that he will work under the tutelage of Lincoln Riley.
Wideout isn’t an immediate need, but the Bengals are in a position of luxury and need to think about how much money they’ll funnel into extensions for Chase and Higgins in the coming years, too.
