Ben White returns to Arsenal training ahead of AC Milan clash after England World Cup squad exit

Ben White has returned to Arsenal training after leaving the England World Cup camp earlier this month. The 25-year-old cited personal reasons for his decision to return home from Qatar.

The full-back hadn't played a minute for Gareth Southgate's men in the group stage and missed the final match against Wales with illness before leaving the squad. He returned back to London Colney and has now been pictured back in training with the Gunners.

Teammates Thomas Partey and Matt Turner are also back in action at the training base after Ghana and USA were eliminated from the World Cup.

Reports emerged of White having fallen out with assistant coach Steve Holland during training, but Southgate refused to comment on that, saying, "What I’ve been shown was alleged and there was another word that was used. I think by commenting on the story I could be giving it any form of credibility, really. We explained why Ben left the camp and I think it’s important that that is respected, really.”

As England crashed out of the tournament the day before White was pictured back in training, Arsenal are preparing to play in a friendly against AC Milan on Tuesday before they take on fellow Serie A outfit Juventus on Saturday.

The Gunners play their next competitive fixture against West Ham on Boxing Day and sit top of the table over the festive period. White has been a key player for Arteta so far this season, playing in every game of the league, starting 14 out of 14.
