Ben Shephard Looks Unrecognizable as He Reveals Surprise Role in Harry Potter Film

Television presenter Ben Shephard has left fans in shock after revealing his unexpected cameo in a Harry Potter film. The revelation came during an episode of This Morning, which Shephard co-hosts alongside Cat Deeley.

During an interview with White Lotus and Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs on the Monday, February 24 episode, Deeley suddenly turned the conversation to her co-host. “You mentioned before about Harry Potter—you were in Harry Potter as well! Did you know that?!” she exclaimed, gesturing toward Shephard.

Isaacs, who famously played Lucius Malfoy in the film series, appeared taken aback by the revelation, prompting Shephard to confess that he had a small role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment of the beloved franchise. A surprising image then flashed on the screen, showing Shephard almost unrecognizable with long brown locks and a full mustache.

The transformation stunned both Isaacs and the show’s audience, as reported by Wales Online. Though Isaacs admitted he kept “nothing” from the Harry Potter sets, Shephard shared that he managed to take home a unique souvenir—a letter sent to Harry Potter before his journey to Hogwarts. Shephard’s scene took place in Fred and George’s joke shop, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, located in Diagon Alley.

However, despite his excitement, his role remained uncredited and was ultimately edited out of the final film. His brush with acting doesn’t end there. Shephard also had a minor appearance in the iconic sitcom Friends. The TV host previously reflected on his time on the show while presenting Good Morning Britain, describing it as a “privilege.”

Recalling the experience, Shephard said: “Friends was at its peak. I got to interview [co-creator] Marta [Kauffman] on set. She was brilliant. While we were talking, I knew they were shooting Joey’s premiere that night. I said to the crew, ‘Why don’t I try and angle this interview and get us on set?'”

He continued, sharing his excitement over the opportunity: “I’d been chatting with Marta, saying we were really looking forward to seeing it because it’s red carpet and part of our trade. It was an absolute privilege to be there, for all of us actually.”

Fans of the presenter were delighted by the unexpected revelation, proving that Shephard’s career has had more Hollywood moments than many might have realized. This Morning airs weekdays at 10 a.m. on ITV1.
