Ben Ofoedu says he has been forced to contact the police after an online stalker started targeting his followers.
The Phats and Small singer, 50, recently revealed that he had been getting hassle from online trolls following his split in February from Vanessa Feltz after 16 years together.
Since then events have escalated with him being forced to get the law involved.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Danger! [A stalker] is contacting my followers and spreading lies. She’s dangerous and has history of this.”
He then posted a video to Instagram Stories, saying: “People are asking me if I am ok. I’m definitely ok. No problem at all.”
Revealing that he had been harassed for months he said: “It’s a girl who I think is contacting some of my followers and spreading stuff, this and that. Just beware.
“She doesn’t go under her real name so she’ll contact you from a troll account and she’s just a troll basically and she’s been bothering me for months and stuff like that.
“So much so that the Metropolitan police are involved. So if you get any dodgy messages from anyone, it’s her.”
Last week, Ofoedu said he felt that he had been vilified after it was revealed that he and Felz had called off their romance because he had been unfaithful.
This led to him getting a lot of negative attention online.
Speaking to Closer magazine, he said: “It’s been so hard. I’ve never been trolled before. I’ve never had the amount of abuse I’ve had, and I’ve never had people say the most horrible things.”
He went on to reveal that he hasn’t spoken to Feltz since they split, but insists he still has a “lot of love” for her.
“I don’t know what the future holds,” he said. “I’m still very much in love with my fiancée. Of course I regret it, it’s incredibly sad. I’m more heartbroken than anyone.”
