Below Deck star Aesha Scott has won the heart of her "dream man" after longing to live her "perfect life" travelling around in a campervan.
The 30-year-old has been dating Scott Dobson since 2020 and the pair have been inseparable ever since, with Aesha now spilling the details on how their romance blossomed.
Although they went to the same school together, Aesha and 31-year-old Scott didn't start dating until he took the plunge and messaged her on Instagram after her TV appearance.
"He messaged me and asked if I wanted to connect. It was really weird. Before he contacted me, I'd been thinking about my perfect life and how I wanted it to look.
"I thought I'd really love a van, to be camping all the time, cooking outside, going on hikes and swimming in lakes," Aesha said in a new interview.
She said she looked at his social media and realised Scott could give her "everything that I pictured", as he spent much of his time travelling around the country in a converted ambulance.
"So then I messaged him and said, 'Can we please go do fun things together'," she told Women's Day.
Soon after, the pair took a two-week road trip in Scott's ambulance, with Aesha jumping into her beau's arms and kissing him at the airport.
Scott added that they "knew the chemistry was right from the start" and they headed off to Utah to spend time canoeing down a river and camping on Horseshoe Bend.
While Scott and Aesha have gone from strength to strength, things haven't always been plain sailing.
The couple spend around six months apart each year, while Aesha is busy filming Below Deck and Scott works in the summer months as a bar manager in Breckinridge, Colorado.
Luckily, Aesha said they have "absolute trust" in each other and are "very independent" so make it work when they're apart.
They now plan on buying a house together in Mount Maunganui next summer.
