A much-loved Dublin restaurant is closing its doors permanently much to the disappointment of locals.

A local group said that Carpe Diem will be sorely missed in the community. They wrote: "Carpe Diem Restaurant Saggart has closed its doors. On behalf of all of your customers we'd like to say thank you for the beautiful meals. You will be missed."

Former customers wished all the team for the future.

One person said: "I'm so sorry to hear that. It was such a nice place to go and eat in. I'll miss it a lot and my Friday's pizza for collection. The best pizza in the area. All the best guys and I hope you'll be back to Saggart or nearby."

Another wrote: "So sad to lose this restaurant. We had many happy family occasions over the years. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Daniel and the team."

A third commented: "Some great memories thanks you so much for everything."
