Beloved pupil support principal teacher at Airdrie school has passed away

A beloved member of staff at an Airdrie secondary school has passed away.

Mum Kirsty Ferguson was a principal teacher of the pupil support team at Caldervale High.

Responding to the devastating news, the school's head teacher, Danny McNulty, said: "It is with deep sadness that I must inform you of the sudden death of our dear friend and colleague Kirsty Ferguson.

“Kirsty was a much-loved and highly-regarded member of our pupil support team and completely dedicated to supporting the young people of Caldervale and their families.

“Our thoughts are with Kirsty’s family at this sad time, especially her wife Heather and their children."

The school wish to confirm that Kirsty’s death was not related to the Covid-19 virus.

The Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser also wishes to pass on our condolences to Kirsty's loved ones and everyone at Caldervale High School.
