While another added: "Trevor, you're a gentleman and always very helpful, especially to my son in the last year or so as he began to buy vinyl in your shop. You'll be missed."
Messages also came from the local community, with one person saying: "Very sad to read this. Thank you, Golden Discs, for all the music and all the years you gave so much joy to me when I went in to visit. Another part of my growing up days and more recent days. Sorry to see it go!" And another local added: "I remember being a young teenager and saving up to buy an LP, 33 inch, or Cassette Tape there in the 80s. I'd spend hours browsing on a Saturday afternoon."
In a statement on Facebook, store manager Trevor said: "Regrettably, this store will close on Wednesday 25th January. A huge thank you to all our loyal customers who have shopped with us in Dun Laoghaire over the years.
"There are 7 other Golden Discs stores in Dublin – your nearest is our Dundrum Town Centre flagship. As a member of the Dun Laoghaire staff for the past 15 years it has been a pleasure to have served you and I just want to say thank you for making my job so pleasurable. For all the little chats, jokes, stories and knowledge a million thanks."
