The Belgium Euro 2024 squad has been announced, as Domenico Tedesco's Red Devils gear up for this summer's tournament.
Crucially, Tedesco has named just 25 players in his final team, one less than the permitted 26 UEFA will allow at the tournament. France have also taken the same decision, suggesting a desire to improve squad harmony by potentially providing more opportunities for their players to get on the pitch at Euro 2024.
But while Belgium may no longer be in the era of their 'Golden Generation', this is still a talented crop of players who should not be taken lightly. Kevin De Bruyne is still as important to the team as ever, and will lead the nation in Germany as captain. Premier League stars Youri Tielemans, Leandro Trossard and Jeremy Doku are all top players when on form, too, while Romelu Lukaku can strike fear into opposition defenders.
There's experience elsewhere in the side as well, with Jan Vertonghen, Axel Witsel, Thomas Meunier and Yannick Carrasco all familiar with international tournament football. One star who won't be there this summer, though, is goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The Real Madrid stopper has suffered with a knee injury this year, and Tedesco has opted against including him in the team.
Regardless, March's friendlies against England and the Republic of Ireland provided some promising displays, while six wins and two draws from their eight qualifying games is vintage 'Golden Generation' Belgium.
The Euro 2024 group stages provides some different tests for Belgium, however, with Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine all awaiting them in Germany.

Belgium manager: Domenico Tedesco
Domenico Tedesco succeeded Roberto Martinez as Belgium manager in February 2023, stepping into his first international job - and it's gone swimmingly so far. The Italian-born German-raised manager is yet to lose a game in charge of the Red Devils, following on from an impressive German Cup win with RB Leipzig in 2022.
He's got a clear philosophy, too: "I always want my teams to divide the space well," Tedesco said. "I like to compare it to a boxer, who should never let his guard down. On top of that, we want to win the ball back as often as possible because we love attacking - although always with a certain balance and structure, to be able to control any transitions."
Belgium's star player
Kevin De Bruyne
One of the figureheads of Belgium's 'Golden Generation', Manchester City string-puller Kevin De Bruyne wears the captain's armband for both club and country these days.
The assist machine is the most-capped midfielder in the history of the Belgian national team, for whom he provides the main creative spark.
De Bruyne is also among Belgium's leading goalscorers of all time and has represented his country at five major tournaments, including the last two Euros.
