Belfast to Dublin train service disruption due to "serious incident" on line

Enterprise train services between Belfast and Dublin are subject to delays and disruption after a "serious incident" on the line between Malahide and Donabate.

Emergency services were called to the scene of an incident that caused all Belfast to Dublin services to be suspended on Friday afternoon.

Part of the route has now reopened and passengers travelling to Dublin will be able to avail of a bus transfer to take them to Connolly Station in Dublin.

In a tweet, Translink said: "#ENT The line is closed between Dublin & Drogheda at present due to an incident between Malahide and Donabate.

"Enterprise services are subject to delay & disruption."

Those travelling from Belfast this evening will be able to get the Enterprise service to Drogheda and then take a bus transfer between Drogheda and Dublin Connolly.

An update from Irish Rail said: "Normal Dart services are operating between Malahide and Bray, Northern services are operating between Drogheda and Skerries only.

"Belfast services are operating as a bus transfer between Connolly and Drogheda and train between Drogheda and Belfast.

"Update to follow."
