The organiser of a special charity weight-lifting competition is hoping to raise enough money to help some soccer kids compete in England next year.
West Belfast strongman Michael Downey is running the now annual Record Breakers Log Lift and Deadlift Championships at Excel Gym in Dunmurry on Saturday, December 4 (11am start).
The aim is to raise money to go towards Cliftonville Girls' Academy 2011 side who hope to compete at the Blackpool Cup next April.

"We run the Record Breakers every year and do it for all different charities. This year we want to try and help the Cliftonville Girls' Academy 2011s football team get over to the big Blackpool tournament next April," Michael said.
"We have been doing some other fundraising including mountain walks to help the kids get over there, and we have some sponsors on board as well.
"Massive shoutout to all the sponsors for their support and making the event possible. It is always nice to try and help out when we can and help the kids gain great experience in Blackpool.
" Also massive shoutout to both coaches for all the voluntary hard work they do with all the kids week in, week out. Johnsey McCrea and Donnamaria McAreavey.
" The event is free to watch and donations will be welcome. We have over 20 athletes from all over Ireland competing looking to break Irish and even some World Records."
Michael added: "It is also great to have the local Excel Gym host the event, so many thanks to everyone there.
"Hopefully people come out and support the event as it is all for a great cause."
