Belfast PSNI helicopter crew 'looking forward to lie in' after busy weekend

The Belfast PSNI helicopter crew will enjoy a well-earned lie in this morning following a busy weekend. The Air Support Unit helped locate some late-night ramblers on the M1 in conjunction with the Road Policing and Safety team and also conducted proactive patrols over Belfast in support of the West Belfast Police.

A post on the official PSNI Air Support Twitter account @PSNIAirSupport detailed the busy weekend, along with a photograph of their helicopter, camera footage of the twilight strollers and a stunning lit-up shot of Belfast at night (below). The post, which was uploaded at 1.12am during the early hours of this morning, read: "Been a busy two days for the weekend crew; from helping locate some late night ramblers on the M1 with @NIRoadPolicing, to proactive patrols over Belfast in support of @PSNIBelfastW. Looking forward to a Monday morning lie-in."

The view over Belfast taken last night (Sunday-Monday, May 8-9) from the police helicopter (PSNI Air Support)

Members of the public are reminded not to report crime through the police's social media channels and to always call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-urgent matters.
