Belfast hit and run appeal after man 'made off from scene on foot'

Police are appealing for information following a report of a hit and run road traffic collision in Belfast.

It happened in the Upper Newtownards Road area at around 3.15am this morning, Sunday January 8. It was reported that two vehicles, a silver Volkswagen Golf and a grey Vauxhall Corsa, were involved in the collision.

In a statement to Belfast Live, a PSNI spokesperson said it was also reported that "a man made off from the scene on foot".

"There have been no reports of any injuries at this stage," they added.

"Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have footage that could assist with enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 243 of 08/01/23.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

"You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/."
