The winner of the 9th Mash Direct Belfast City Half Marathon is Gideon Kipsang.
He crossed the finish line at the Ormeau Embankment in one hour six minutes and 51 seconds and was closely followed by Conor Gallagher and Chris Madden came third. The fastest female in the race was Gemma McDonald from Ballycastle Runners, Niamh O'Connor came second and third place went to Leanne Gibson.
Thousands took part in the popular 13.1 mile race on Sunday, September 18, which started and finished on the Ormeau Embankment

1. Gideon Kipsang - 1 hour 06 minutes 51 seconds
2. Conor Gallagher - 1 hour 07 minutes 45 seconds
3. Chris Madden - 1 hour 10 minutes 43 seconds

1. Gemma McDonald - 1 hour 23 minutes and 26 seconds
2. Niamh O'Connor - 1 hour 23 minutes and 41 seconds
3. Leanne Gibson - 1 hour 24 minutes and 24 seconds
This year there were a number of changes to the race due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, whose funeral will take place on Monday, September 19. There was a reduction in supporter stations and materials used at these points, the removal of the official warm up, and a period of silence at the start of the race as a mark of respect.
