A Bega man remains on bail after a jury found him guilty of eight counts of sexually touching girls under the age of 16.
Neil Duncan, 67, faced a four week trail in the Queanbeyan District Court after pleading not guilty to 14 counts of sexually touching five girls aged between 10 and 16 between December 2018 and March 2021.
The 11-person jury found Mr Duncan not guilty on four of those counts.
After three days of deliberations and being sent back twice by Judge Robyn Tupman, the jury was on Thursday unable to come up with a majority verdict on the final two counts and they were discharged.
Judge Tupman noted the trial took four weeks, twice as long as expected due to technical issues and several cases of COVID-19 among the jury.
A detention application by the Crown was not granted and Mr Duncan's bail was continued ahead of his sentencing in Sydney on August 5.
