Beeston shop owner's fury as window smashed with bricks 'spoils lovely community'

A business director has told of his frustration after the window of his store was smashed with bricks. Karl Theakstone, the director at Fahrenheit Plumbing and Heating in Wollaton Road, Beeston, said the damage will cost him £300.

Mr Theakstone believes the incident happened on Sunday evening, February 12. He tried to trace back the location of where the bricks came from.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: "There were not any bricks missing from the nearby buildings, so we thought they must have come from a building site.

"I looked around to find a building site, and we found one on this road, so we think this is where they came from. It was a member of staff who opened the shop on Monday morning and saw the bricks."

He is now liaising with Nottinghamshire Police to track down any CCTV footage that may have captured the incident. But he said the incident has come at an unfortunate time, as "life is getting more and more expensive".

The business has been operating in the area for nine years. He added: "The repairs would cost us £300. It is an inconvenience.

"Life is getting more and more expensive. So it is just another expensive thing on top of everything else."

Mr Theakstone believes that people like the person who is behind the incident is 'spoiling our community'. He added: "The community in Beeston is just lovely. It is such a shame when you get the odd idiot who spoils it."
