Group of travellers pitch up at popular Beeston park

A number of caravans pitched up at a popular Nottinghamshire beauty spot, and a shop nearby then closed its doors to the public. The group of travellers were first spotted earlier this week in Beeston at Highfields Park, belonging to The University of Nottingham.

The group set up opposite the Co-op on University Boulevard, which had to allegedly close due to issues experienced by staff. It was reported that the issues experienced were with some of the children believed to be part of the group of travellers.

The store has since re-opened to customers after the unexpected closure. Another group of travellers that were pitched nearby on the Victoria Embankment have now vacated the area after pitching up in May, where more than 20 caravans could be seen on the site.
