Bedminster Beer Trail to return with takeover of 13 popular venues

Bedminster Beer Trail has announced its return for this year with a staggering 13 venues taking part. Taking place across the final May Bank Holiday weekend, the trail will see four brewery tap rooms take part as well as nine pubs and bars.

The south Bristol neighbourhood has a rich brewing history stretching back hundreds of years popularised by George's Brewery in the 18th century. Today, the area maintains its beer culture - Bristol Beer Factory is set to celebrate 20 years next year. Both North Street and East Street have a high concentration of craft beer offerings, including new breweries Bruhaha, the Grain Alchemist and On Point based around Windmill Hill Farm.

Supported by Bedminster BID, last year's beer trail saw thousands of people head to North Street and East Street to sample some of the best breweries in Bristol. The 13 venues taking part this year are Bristol Beer Factory Tap Room, The Tobacco Factory, The Hen & Chicken, The Spotted Cow, The Old Bookshop, KASK, North Street Standard, The Steam Crane, The Coronation, On Point Brewing, Alpha Bottle Shop & Tap, The Grain Alchemist and Bruhaha.

Mike Fenlon, co-owner of Alpha Bottle Shop & Tap and co-founder of the Beer Trail said: "We are so excited to be bringing the Bedminster Beer Trail back to South Bristol for 2023. Last year’s trail was a massive success, with thousands of people coming to the area to enjoy great beer and support the amazing independent venues which we are so lucky to have here in Bedminster.

"This year the trail will be even bigger and we will be raising money for a fantastic cause at the same time! A portion of sales from each keg sold at participating venues will be given directly to Caring in Bristol.

"The trail is all about celebrating the amazing community which we have in Bedminster and if we can do that whilst helping out a fantastic charity, then it makes it all the more special."

The trail only includes independent venues and promises more than 100 different beers across the pubs, bars and taprooms. This year the collaboration beer has been designed and brewed by newcomers On Point, Bruhaha and the Grain Alchemist - Bedminster’s three newest breweries which all reside nearby East Street.

Drinkers will be able to collect a trail map from any venue and use it to collect stamps across the three days of celebration. A completed stamp card will get you 10 per cent off on draught beer at any participating venue across the month of June.
