Becky Hill told fans she'd spent much of Monday upset after, what should have been the performance of her career to date at the Euros final, was marred by vile comments from online trolls.
Still riding high from her Brit win for Best Dance Act earlier this year, Remember and Better Off Without You singer Becky was the star turn of a Superbowl-esque production before England took on Germany on Sunday evening. She performed a medley of hits Crazy What Love Can Do, My Heart Goes and Remember, before joined by Stefflon Don and Ultra Nate for an epic finale of 90s dance anthem Free.
Fans at Wembley made their feelings clear with loud cheers greeting the three women as the performance ended, with Becky taking to Twitter in the aftermath of England's euphoric win to share her delight at the result and getting to be part of it, writing: "what an incredible result for the @Lionesses today. i’m so proud to be a woman, i’m so proud to be living through history. im honoured to have opened up that incredible match today. thank you thank you thank you. ITS HOME GIRLS!!!!!"

However, the former Voice contestant then shared and replied to some horrendous tweets that had come her way, with one troll telling her: "You used to be slim," as Becky fiercely hit back.
There were equally atrocious tweets on a similar theme as others said Becky was 'sexualising herself' 'setting a bad example' to young girls watching. One critic wrote: "Girls need to see that they are more then their bodies. Showing your body to others means that they see only your body and nothing else about them is important. Men do very well covered up so why can’t women??"
However, Becky, who revealed she'd even been asked if she was pregnant, hit back, writing: "i showed girls that i was more than my body WITH MY VOICE. & MY SONGS. that i’ve written MYSELF. only YOU saw my body & nothing else. men do well at EVERYTHING because society is very kind to them, women don’t get the same standards but how could you even begin to understand."
And on Monday, the singer admitted that some of the awful comments she'd seen had got her down, telling fans: "i’ve spent most part of today feeling s**t & had a little cry about how incredible the women’s football was yesterday & how sad that people devalued my worth as a performer because of what i wore. anyway. i’m done now for my own mental health."
There were plenty of fans quick to praise Becky for, not only her performance, but attitude to trolls, with one telling her: "Becky, YOU ARE A GODDESS. You sounded and looked incredible last night. Progress is when people STOP POLICING WOMEN'S BODIES. These comments are awful and horrifying. The patriarchy can absolutely do one - I'm FURIOUS on your behalf."
